Validation at sea
Measurement examples in high-transparency waters

Validation contents

  • Verify the measurement limit in high-transparency waters

Inspection result

  • Acquire the data on both the water surface and the bottom of the ocean securely
  • Offshore 400m, deepest about 9m

Validation at sea
Surface scan verification

Validation contents

  • Acquire the topography data of the beach to shoreline shape, and the shape of the sand bar developed parallel to shoreline.

Inspection result

  • Confirm the seafloor topography (existence of sandbar) in the area where the wave of the sea surface is disturbed.
  • Sea area: The deepest water depth of about 6 m, the underwater reef, the three-dimensional shape of the curved bar are visualized.
  • Land area: The step topography is visualized – like the river meandering (as the estuary is obstructed), riverbeds, and shorelines.

Validation at sea
Micro-topographical validation in rocky or tongue-shaped sandbars (tombolo).

Inspection result

  • Confirm the seafloor topography (bathymetry) of the waters developed and formed by tombolo.
  • Confirm the tombolo offshore 150m offshore.
  • Confirm the seafloor topography of an area where reefs have developed.
  • Visualize micro-topography of the rock reef in shallow and complex water areas where it is currently difficult to measure from a ship using existing methods.

Current status of target

Confirm the seafloor topography of an area where reefs have developed.
